metal-organic compounds
In the title compound, [Pt(C6H6O6)(C6H14N2)].3H2O, the dianionic ascorbate ligand forms a six-membered chelate ring coordinating to the Pt atom through O and C atoms. The Pt-N distance at the trans position of the C atom is slightly longer than that at the trans position of the O atom [2.093 (5) and 2.033 (5) Å, respectively]. Three water molecules link the carbonyl or hydroxyl groups of one ascorbate ligand with the amino group of another through hydrogen bonds surrounding the cyclohexane ring.
