metal-organic compounds
Crystals of sodium hydrogen L-tartrate, Na+.C4H5O6−, were grown from an aqueous solution at 393 K in a closed vessel. An asymmetric O—HO hydrogen bond is formed between the hydrogen L-tartrate anions [OO 2.476 (3) Å]. The H atom involved in the hydrogen bond is disordered. The sodium ion is coordinated by six O atoms, in contrast to the eight atoms about other alkali metal ions in their hydrogen L-tartrates.
