The title compound, [Au(CF3){P(C6H5)3}], is the first mononuclear gold(I) complex with an Au-CF3 bond. The Au coordination is nearly linear with P-Au-C 178.56 (11)°, Au-P 2.2859 (9) and Au-C 2.045 (4) Å.
