Europium triborate, EuB3O6

Abstract: Europium triborate, EuB3O6, has been grown from a strontium borate flux. It crystallizes in the space group I2/a and is a member of the isostructural series REB3O6 (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb). Its structure consists of chains of [B6O12]n6- building units, that run parallel to the c axis, and tenfold coordinated Eu3+.
