The structure of MgNa₃H(PO₄)₂ contains two-dimensional zigzag sheets of corner-sharing PO₄ tetrahedra and MgO₆ octahedra. The sheets are linked in the third dimension by two types of Na-O polyhedron.

This new polymorph of Co₂P₂O₇ contains CoO₆ octahedra and P₂O₇ groups with an O-P-O angle of 180°. The CoO₆ octahedra share edges to form six-membered rings, which are further interconnected to form two-dimensional zigzag sheets parallel to (001). The P₂O₇ groups link these sheets to form a three-dimensional network.

Na₄Co₇(PO₄)₆ is isostructural with Na₄Ni₇(PO₄)₆. The structure contains CoO₆ and CoO₄ polyhedra and PO₄ tetrahedra connected by corner and edge sharing to form a three-dimensional network. The Na⁺ ions occupy tunnels running parallel to the a axis.
